Hyundai Motor unveiled a comprehensive plan to strengthen its position in China through continued investment, localized product development, and deeper collaboration with joint venture partners.
Hyundai Motor and its local partner, BAIC Group (Beijing Automotive Group), have committed to investing a total of 8 billion yuan into their joint venture, Beijing Hyundai, based on an agreement reached in December 2024. This investment strengthens the foundation for long-term growth and supports a broader transformation, which aims to deliver products designed specifically for Chinese customers, while leveraging the country's advanced innovation ecosystem.
As part of this transformation, Beijing Hyundai plans to introduce 20 new models in China in the next five years, marking the most ambitious product expansion ever undertaken in this market.
Continuing the launch of the all-new IONIQ V, Beijing Hyundai will continue to expand its electrified vehicle lineup by introducing an additional SUV model in the first half of 2027. This will be followed by a wider launch in the midsize to large segment, which includes battery electric vehicles (BEV) and extended-range electric vehicles (EREV).
