Trump and Vance Evacuated Secret Service, Security Incident at the White House

JAKARTA - US President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump were evacuated from an annual dinner meeting at the White House, Washington, Saturday night, April 25 local time.

The evacuation was carried out in connection with a security incident after loud noises occurred during the White House Correspondents' event.

Trump and senior US government officials seated at the main table were escorted out by Secret Service agents as part of security protocol measures, while other guests remained inside the Washington Hilton event room.

President and Vice President (Wapres) JD Vance was then reported to be in a safe condition.

The witness admitted that he heard a loud noise during the event.

"We were sitting, then we heard 'dor, dor, dor'. Everyone immediately took shelter under the table because they didn't know what was going on," said White House correspondent Kellie Meyer, quoted by NewsNation via Anadolu, Sunday, April 26.

The main desk was then cleared as part of security procedures.

Meyer said he saw a number of cabinet officials escorted out of the event.

The White House has not given an official statement regarding this security incident, including the possibility of casualties.

The host, Weija Jiang, then told the guests that the event was postponed until further notice.
