Kangen Band Angkat Hit "Yolanda" Jadi Film Layar Lebar

JAKARTA - Kangen Band will develop one of their hit songs, Yolanda in the form of a feature film. Working with Radepa Studio, they will star and contribute their story.

The song Yolanda is one of the singles from the album Bintang 14 Hari which was released by Kangen Band in 2008. Thanks to this song, the album received a triple platinum award. Later, the film will be titled Mencari Yolanda.

"This is a combination, synergy of the world of music and film. I believe in the combination, especially with the title Mencari Yolanda with the work we make in the comedy genre. Indeed, the journey from Kangen is unique from the area of simplicity, successful in Indonesia and became a legend to inspire the younger generation that dreams can be achieved," said producer Aji Fauzi in a press conference in South Jakarta on Saturday, April 25.

"The song Yolanda is still producing (until now) and is still the closing song every time we perform. Yolanda as a closing is good," said Dodhy Hardiyanto as a member of the Kangen Band.

Andika Mahesa as the vocalist added, "We used to play ftv about our lives. If for the big screen at that time, the film wanted to be moved to the cinema but hit the time in 2012 we disbanded."

The premise itself is still a secret, as is the director and screenwriter. Even so, the story is still related to the journey of Kangen Band's career and the song Yolanda.

"We are happy that we can continue to play movies, especially that we haven't seen each other for 2 months, this is the first time we've met again. We are busy making albums and suddenly meeting a joint event arouses young passion. Previously, we had played a ftv soap opera, so God willing, it won't be stiff. Hopefully the results will meet expectations," Dodhy added.

"We have to be nyantol, if we don't nyantol we won't be anything. Let the chemistry meet later. Hopefully there will be a biopic reference about the band. - Yesterday, Bohemian Rhapsody to find something that clicks with Indonesian audiences," said producer Avesina Soebli.

The plan is, the film Kangen Band: Mencari Yolanda will be shown in Indonesian cinemas next year.
