No Claim Filed: Irawati Puteri Urges the Public to Focus on Facts and Move Forward

JAKARTA - After two months of experiencing coordinated harassment and unfounded accusations circulating in public forums, Irawati Puteri, a Stanford Law School alumni and LPDP scholarship recipient, confirmed that no party had filed an official claim through any official channel provided by her legal team, including direct communication with lawyers since March 15, the submission of documents to the legal office, digital claim forms, and a face-to-face meeting on April 3, 2026 in Jakarta. No claims were filed, confirming that the allegations circulating were unfounded.

"The absence of claims filed is a fact that can be judged by the public themselves," said Irawati.

Among the circulating narratives is the claim that Stanford Law School and LPDP have taken action against Irawati. These allegations were initially started by some Indonesians who falsely stated that she did not have legal permission to stay in the United States after leaving with a government scholarship, a claim that is completely false. He emphasized that none of these institutions have initiated any formal process.

In contrast, the two institutions have expressed their concerns about the cyberbullying and harassment that has occurred and continue to follow up with their legal teams. Irawati noted that Stanford's reporting portal generates a standard automated response, which should not be misinterpreted as evidence of any formal process.

"The spread of information that cannot be accounted for through anonymous accounts is an abuse. Harassment in the digital space is not justified. My hope is that this experience I have had will not discourage other young generations to dare to pursue their dreams. One day they may or may not understand your sacrifices and hard work, keep going," said Irawati.

In a separate statement, Irawati's lawyer, Peter Yordan, stated that the absence of a formal claim submission showed that settlement was not the intended goal. "The fact that no party came shows a lack of good faith to resolve this issue responsibly."

His office is ready to take civil and criminal action against parties who continue to spread accusations or content that is slanderous. Including through tracking anonymous accounts and collecting digital evidence.
