US Military Operation Costs to Iran Reach IDR 1,000 Trillion

JAKARTA - The cost of the United States' military operation against Iran reached 61 billion US dollars (about Rp. 1,000 trillion), according to the Iran War Cost Tracker real-time monitor.

The portal updates the data in real-time and calculates the costs required for personnel and ships deployed to the region as well as other related expenses.

As reported by ANTARA from Sputnik/RIA Novosti-OANA, Saturday, April 25, the calculation methodology is based on the Pentagon's report to Congress, which states that the first six days of operations cost 11.3 billion US dollars (about Rp194 trillion), plus other expenses that will reach 1 billion US dollars (about Rp17 trillion) per day.

On February 28, the United States and Israel launched a joint attack on targets in Iran that caused infrastructure damage and killed civilians.

On April 7, Washington and Tehran announced a two-week ceasefire. Subsequent negotiations in Islamabad, Pakistan ended without result. However, there was no announcement of continued hostilities, even though the US began imposing a blockade on Iranian ports.

On Tuesday (21/4), Trump said the US would extend the ceasefire with Iran while continuing the blockade.

The following day, the US President said peace talks with Iran "may" take place in the next 36 to 72 hours.
