DKI Satpol PP Proposes to Add Young Personnel
JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Satpol PP proposes adding the number of personnel with younger ages to reduce the workload of members in the field.
Head of the DKI Jakarta Satpol PP Satriadi Gunawan said that one neighborhood should require 18 to 20 personnel so that the division of labor can run more optimally.
"However, the current condition is still far from the ideal standard," he said, quoting Antara.
The limited number of personnel is a challenge experienced by the DKI Jakarta Satpol PP. He detailed, currently in one neighborhood there are only seven to 10 personnel. Even though, security and enforcement of order take place for 24 hours.
"With the three sif division system, the number of personnel in each sif is very limited, which has an impact on the high workload that each member must bear," explained Satriadi.
Until now, he said, Satpol PP has 5,000 members, but the ideal number of personnel is as many as 10,000 members.
Therefore, he has applied for the number of Satpol PP in the capital to be increased.
Previously, in a meeting with Commission A of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Satriadi also briefly revealed that the problem of lack of personnel caused 35 of his members to die within a year.
According to him, the high number is due to the heavy workload in the field and the lack of supporting facilities and infrastructure for personnel.
"I have been the head of the PP Police for almost a year. So, almost 35 of my members have died. Not because of the head, but because of the condition, which is the workload and the facilities and equipment that are extraordinary," said Satriadidi Jakarta, Thursday (23/4).
In addition, Satriadi also conveyed to the legislators regarding supporting facilities, such as resting places, which are still minimal. In fact, Satpol PP members must be on duty 24 hours at the village office.
Therefore, currently many Satpol PP members are forced to rest in the mosque or office corridor because there is no adequate rest room. This condition is also considered to have an impact on the health and stamina of officers.
