Prevent Ecological Disaster, Badui Community Consistently Take Care of Nature
JAKARTA - The Bedouin community in the hinterland of Lebak Regency, Banten, has so far consistently maintained nature to prevent ecological disasters that can cause damage to the ecosystem and cause casualties.
"From the past until now we have been maintaining nature and forest cover for the continuation of human life," said the Badui Tangtu Tanggungan 12 Saidi Yunior customary elder quoted by Antara.
According to him, the settlement of the 5,200-hectare Badui land rights is an upstream area in Banten Province with dozens of rivers.
Therefore, the customary customary land rights area must be well maintained and sustainable and green, so that the water conditions in a number of river streams are clean and clear.
Likewise, the condition of natural habitats and prohibited forests or evergreen cover forests and does not cause damage.
Because, if the natural and forest areas are damaged, it is certain that an ecological disaster will occur.
In fact, the disaster could cause damage to the Banten area.
The Bedouin community, he continued, also maintains the 47 mountains in Banten Province so that they are not damaged or converted into industrial areas for the sake of living in the world.
Because, if the condition of the mountain is damaged, it is certain that the absorption of water supply will decrease, even a water crisis can also cause natural disasters.
"We as indigenous people are entrusted by our ancestors to take care of it so that nature and forests remain green and provide life for humans, especially the Bedouin are the upstream area of Banten," said Saidi.
Lebak Regent Mochamad Hasbi Asyidiki said the Bedouin community should be appreciated for maintaining the balance of nature, so that they can prevent potential natural disasters.
The Bedouin community is very important to preserve nature, because the damage to forests and nature has an impact on habitat and ecosystem damage for animals and humans.
"We as government officials will certainly protect all nature and forests so that they are not used for mining, because it has an impact on human life," said Hasbi.
Meanwhile, the Head of Kanekes Lebak Village, Jaro Oom, said that the 2026 Seba celebration was attended by 1,525 people consisting of Outer Bedouin and Inner Bedouin to visit Lebak Regent Mochamad Hasbi Asyidiki and Banten Governor Andra Soni, Saturday.
"We hope that the Seba celebration ritual will run smoothly and return to the customary customary rights settlement," he explained.
