Three Drug Couriers Arrested in Salatiga and Semarang

JAKARTA - The Central Java Regional Police Narcotics Directorate arrested three methamphetamine couriers in the Salatiga City and Semarang Regency areas, all of whom were repeat offenders.

Director of Narcotics Investigation of Central Java Police, Kombes Pol. Yos Guntur in Semarang said that the disclosure began with the arrest of suspect WAW (41) in the Bergas area, Semarang Regency.

According to him, the suspect was arrested after spreading a package of crystal meth in the Salatiga and Semarang Regency areas.

"The package of sabu-sabu is spread to a number of locations to avoid detection by officers," he said, quoting Antara.

From the arrest, he said, officers carried out an expansion which subsequently arrested two other couriers at a boarding house in Bawen, Semarang Regency.

Two other suspects, EHP (39) and SW (31), were arrested along with a number of evidence.

"A total of 49 packages of methamphetamine were secured with a weight of 65.75 grams," he said.

He said the suspects admitted that the goods were obtained from someone with the initials LB from Boyolali Regency.

The suspects were charged with Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics with Law Number 1 of 2026 concerning adjustment of criminal law.
