Menko Zulhas: Schools Can Complain MBG Menu Does Not Meet Standards
JAKARTA - Coordinating Minister for Food and Agriculture Zulkifli Hasan (Zulhas) said schools could complain to the Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG) if the nutritious protest food menu (MBG) was not appropriate.
"If the food that is sent does not meet the standard, the principal can complain. Once, twice, three times, it can be closed," he said when reviewing MAN 2 and SMAN 1 Probolinggo City, East Java, Friday, April 24, reported by ANTARA.
The visit was carried out to directly review the implementation of the MBG program and ensure the quality of food received by students is in accordance with nutritional standards and consumption eligibility, so as to directly check the MBG menu served to students at the school.
He said the school had the full right to refuse food if it did not meet the standards that had been set, so the quality of food in the MBG program must be well maintained because it was directly related to the nutritional fulfillment of children.
He also asked all food service providers or SPPG to be disciplined in maintaining the quality, cleanliness, and safety of food in accordance with the provisions that have been set.
"I also appeal to the school not to immediately spread the findings of problematic food through social media, so that there is no need to make content related to it," he said.
According to him, the more appropriate step is to convey directly to the SPPG that an evaluation should be carried out immediately, so that there is improvement in presenting the MBG menu.
