Condolences: Another TNI Soldier Serving in UNIFIL Dies

JAKARTA - Another TNI soldier who served in the United Nations peacekeeping mission, the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), fell. The soldier is Corporal Rico Pramudia who died today, Friday, April 24, 2026.

The announcement of Rico Pramudia's death was made through the official UNIFIL X social media account. "Statement on the passing of an Indonesian peacekeeper injured last month: UNIFIL deplores the passing today of Corporal Rico Pramudia, who was critically injured following a projectile explosion in his base in Adchit Al Qusayr on the night of 29 March," said the statement quoted from the account @UNIFIL_.

Rico is a soldier who suffered serious injuries due to a projectile explosion at the base where he served, Adchit Al Qusayr, on the night of March 29.

After undergoing intensive care at a hospital in Beirut, Lebanon, Rico Pramudia's life was not saved. He finally breathed his last after being in critical condition and in a coma for almost a month in the ICU. However, the maximum medical efforts of the medical team were not able to save his life.

With the death of Corporal Rico Pramudia, the number of TNI soldiers who died in this series of missions increased to four, after previously three personnel had previously died.

This peacekeeping mission is under the auspices of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL). In its statement, UNIFIL expressed its deepest condolences to the victims' families, the TNI, as well as the government and all the people of Indonesia for this tragic loss.

UNIFIL also stressed that attacks on peacekeepers are a serious violation of international humanitarian law and could potentially be categorized as war crimes. The United Nations urges all parties to the conflict to comply with international law and ensure the safety of UN personnel and facilities in the field.
