ITDC Evaluates Total After the Agung Fire at Nusa Dua Restaurant Bali
JAKARTA - State-owned enterprise PT Pengembangan Pariwisata Indonesia (ITDC) conducted a total and thorough evaluation after a fire occurred at a restaurant in one of the hotels in the Nusa Dua area, Badung Regency, Bali.
"We continue to prioritize safety and security aspects throughout the region," said ITDC Nusa Dua General Manager Made Agus Dwiatmika in Nusa Dua, Badung, Bali, Friday, April 24, reported by ANTARA.
He explained that the evaluation related to safety and security indicators was carried out so that similar incidents would not be repeated in the future.
Meanwhile, after the fire, his party and the hotel management continued to coordinate intensively to ensure the safety of the area and maintain the smooth operation of the premium area.
"Thanks to the quick and coordinated response, the fire was extinguished and currently, the situation has been under control," he added.
Previously, the restaurant building of the Club Med Bali Hotel was on fire at around 07.00 WITA.
His party deployed two fire trucks and was assisted by seven fire trucks from the Badung Regency Fire Department to tame the fire.
Meanwhile, the Denpasar City Police and the South Kuta Police are investigating the cause of the fire.
Head of the South Kuta Police, Deputy Commissioner of Police (AKP) Muhammad Bhayangkara Putra Sejati, said his party had collected witness statements.
From the temporary statements of a number of witnesses who are local employees, the fire is suspected to have come from a frying machine due to oil that is estimated to be too hot.
Initially, officers attempted to extinguish the fire using a small fire extinguisher, but the fire still spread quickly until it engulfed the restaurant building.
There were no casualties in the incident, but the material losses were estimated at billions of rupiah.
