Police beat Ojol in Situbondo, Propam: Wait for investigation to violate discipline or ethics

JAKARTA - The Situbondo Police Professional and Security Section (Propam), East Java, is processing a local police personnel who abused an online motorcycle taxi driver or ojol.

The Head of the Situbondo Police Propam, Inspector of Police Two I Komang Adi Aryama, said that the case of beating a police officer with the initials DS against the ojol driver had been resolved peacefully, but Propam still carried out internal action.

"Although the judicial process ended with family and peace, we will still follow up internally," he said in Situbondo, Friday, quoted by Antara.

Until now, continued Komang, the Propam investigators are still waiting for the disposition from the Situbondo Police Chief AKBP Bayu Anuwar Sidiqie to determine the type of violation committed by the member.

He said that disciplinary violations were related to behavior that violated the rules of order of members of the National Police, while violations of the code of ethics were actions that deviated from the morals and ethics of the police profession.

"We will first see the internal investigation process and we are also waiting for the disposition from the leadership to determine whether this is a disciplinary or code of ethics violation," said Komang.

Information obtained, the Situbondo Police personnel initials DS allegedly beat a driver of an online motorcycle taxi because of a misunderstanding.

The problem was resolved within the family and the online motorcycle taxi driver agreed not to report the beating against him and chose to make peace.
