Jisoo BLACKPINK Receives Rising Star Award at Canneseries 2026
Jisoo BLACKPINK kembali mencuri perhatian di luar panggung musik. Kali ini, ia mendapat Madame Figaro Rising Star Award di Cannes International Series Festival 2026 atau Canneseries.
Quoted from Yonhap, Friday, April 24, the festival organizers announced the award on Friday, April 24. Jisoo received the award directly in Cannes, France, on Thursday local time.
Organizers judged Jisoo to be able to maintain two career paths at once: music and acting. He was also said to continue to expand his filmography through diverse roles and formats.
"With his international reach, screen presence, and ongoing artistic development, he remains a prominent and promising figure in contemporary and global Korean entertainment," Canneseries said on its official website.
In March, Jisoo's latest series, Boyfriend on Demand, premiered on Netflix. In the series, she plays Mi-rae, a webtoon producer who is tired of work pressure and seeks romance through a virtual dating subscription service.
This award strengthens Jisoo's position as one of the Korean idols who are serious about acting. He not only comes with the big name BLACKPINK, but also starts to be judged from his screen work and his choice of roles.
Canneseries 2026 takes place from April 23-28. The annual festival, which has been held since 2018, showcases television series from various countries through four official programs, namely the Competition, Short Form Competition, Documentary Series Competition, and Out of Competition.
This festival also has a Rendez-Vous program, which is a non-competitive curation session.
