The defendant reports the PN Denpasar verdict to KY, prepares an appeal step

JAKARTA - The defendant in the civil case number 990/Pdt.G/2025 at the Denpasar District Court reported the panel of judges to the Judicial Commission (KY).

The defendant's lawyer, Ary Indrajaya, assessed that the judge's decision did not consider a number of trial facts, including witness testimony and local examination results.

"We consider this decision does not consider crucial facts in the trial, so we ask KY to consider the ethical aspects of the judge," said Ary.

According to Ary, this report was submitted to encourage KY to investigate alleged violations of the code of ethics of judges in the decision-making process.

"The judge we reported is full of violations of the code of ethics, which decided our client's case, Joko Sugianto. And we hope that KY can follow up on it," he said.

Ary explained that later KY was able to see transparently, what the Denpasar District Court's Panel of Judges had decided. Which, he continued, there were facts of the trial that should be considered, but were ignored by the judge who examined the case.

"Our report at KY is mainly about the neglect of facts in the local examination (PS). In fact, in the local examination it is very crucial. Because the local examination is also part of the trial," he said.

He explained, there are also facts that are of a nature to eliminate a chronology, or a record that is partial in the decision, namely regarding witnesses. Where the witnesses are facts, but Majid Hakim says they are deauditu witnesses. That is, witnesses who only hear.

"Well, this is what the deviation or abuse of authority means, from the side of the panel of judges," he said again.

Meanwhile, Assistant PIC for Public Report Reception KY Bali Ragil Armando said that his party had received a report and would conduct a study before forwarding it to the central KY.

"After the analysis in the area, the file will be sent to Jakarta for further examination," he explained.

Ragil admitted that after the analysis in the area, KY Bali will send the file to Jakarta.

Later, after the file in Jakarta, it will be analyzed again by the Central KY.

"So this is still long. So yes, be patient first," he said.

Ragil admitted that the presence of Joko Sugianto and his lawyer was a report related to the decision of the civil case on March 27, 2026. His party has not received a complaint about monitoring the trial from the Joko Sugianto party.

According to Ragil, from the civil ruling, there are two things that must be known by the reporting party. First, his party received a report, and second, he could also receive complaints for further legal monitoring (banding) by Joko Sugianto's party at the Denpasar High Court (PT).

"We as the KY for monitoring will have another application. We wait for the application. Because what we received was a report file, a decision at the PN. So that (monitoring application) we wait, we wait for the reporter whether he will apply or not," he explained.
