Three New Yamaha Motorbike Variants, From Trail To Cafe Racer

JAKARTA - Yesterday (2/12) Yamaha released its latest motorbike. The three motorbikes are the WR 155R trail type, the retro XSR 155 style motorbike, and the All New Nmax 155. Understandably, the three types of motorbikes are indeed the most active on the road today.

The first is the WR 155R trail type. This Yamaha trail bike will later compete with its predecessor, the Kawasaki KLX 150, and the one that is currently on the rise, the Honda CRF 150 L.

The Yamaha WR 155R carries a 155cc, Liquid cooled, 4-stroke engine with VVA technology that is capable of generating power of 12.3 KW or around 19 hp at 10,000 rpm and a torque of 14.3 Nm / 6,500 rpm.

When you look at the news, apparently Yamaha chose blue as the mainstay of the Yamaha WR 155R. While its competitors are already attached to its distinctive colors. For example, the Honda CRF 150 L makes red its flagship color, while the Kawasaki KLX 150 is synonymous with green citizens.

However, it seems that the WR 155R is missing something compared to its two competitors. This motorbike still uses a 41 mm diameter telescopic suspension, not using the upside down. However, this does not reduce this motorbike for off road activities because Yamaha claims the suspension is still comfortable for it because of its good damping capability.

While the rear suspension is supported by a pressurized Link Type Monocross equipped with oil and the hardness level can be adjusted according to the user's taste. This trail bike also uses a semi-double cradle chassis that carries a fuel tank with a capacity of 8.1 liters.

In addition, this model is also equipped with a multifunctional LCD speedometer which is informative and a hazard lamp that functions as a sign when a driver experiences an emergency.

Meanwhile, for the price, compared to the two competitors, the W 155R is the most expensive. The price is in the range of Rp. 36.9 million specifically for OTR Jakarta online bookings.

Nmax 155

All New Yamaha Nmax, not a facelift, but there are really many changes. It's not just the design that has changed but the engine, the features, everything has changed.

The All New Nmax 155 has two versions, namely Connected / ABS and the Standard variant. This latest generation Nmax also comes with an engine with Blue Core technology and Variable Valve Actuation (VVA).

What is new from the All New Nmax is from the engine sector, namely the Stop & Start System (SSS) feature which functions to maintain fuel consumption in order to remain efficient when the motorbike is stopped. And supported by a Smart Motor Generator (SMG) which makes Yamaha dare to claim the sound of this motorbike is smoother when turned on than the old model.

As for power, 11.3kW / 8000rpm or about 15 horsepower. While the torque is 13.9 Nm at 6,500 rpm.

In addition, a new feature in Nmax is the Traction Control System feature. Yamaha said the system was designed to reduce the risk of rear tire slippage in all road surface situations during acceleration.

One more thing, Nmax's new feature uses the Smart Key System, which is a keyless key system (without keys). In addition, Nmax is equipped with an Electric Power Socket to charge mobile phones.

Meanwhile, the price is set at 30 million. There is no official price for the exact amount because Yamaha has not announced the official price.

3. XSR 155

Finally, the new Yamaha motorbike that is quite anticipated is the classic XSR 155 style motorbike. Yamaha calls this motorbike a sport heritage. A concept that combines classic or retro and modern styles.

What makes this bike look classic is the round headlamps, the flatter rear frame, the leather seats and the exhaust.

For the front of the XSR 155 uses an upside down front suspension. What is no less classic is if you look at the gas tank design. It is known that the XSR 155 petrol tank has a capacity of 10.4 liters. While at the bottom of the radiorator tank looks naked because it is not covered with shroud.

Yamaha XSR 155 is issued in two color choices, namely silver and black. That is also what distinguishes the production of this motorbike in Indonesia and countries that have produced this motorbike previously, namely Thailand.

The modern impression also comes from the front LED lights. Plus the semicircular running lights add a modern impression. Not only that, the taillights and glue are also LEDs. Only the sign lights still use ordinary lights.

While the buttons embedded in the XSR 155 resemble the MT 15. On the left there is a far-near light switch, a passing lamp, a horn button and a sign. While on the right there is a red switch with a dual function, namely engine kill and starter.

Not to forget that at the bottom there is also a body part as a machine protector which is made compact so that the distance between the road and the engine or (ground clearance) is quite high.
