Pentagon: It took 6 months to clear mines in the Strait of Hormuz

JAKARTA - The Pentagon noted that it would take six months to completely clear the Strait of Hormuz of mines planted by Iran.

According to the Pentagon, which was reported by the Washington Post, quoted Thursday, April 23, if the Strait of Hormuz is cleaned during the forecast, it is likely that the price of crude oil and liquefied natural gas will creep up.

Iran has gripped the security of the Strait of Hormuz since the US-Israel attacked Tehran on February 28.

As Iran almost completely blocked the 20 percent of global exports of oil and liquefied natural gas, the rise in energy supply prices disrupted the world economy.

Even if the war and the US naval blockade of ships entering and leaving Iranian ports ends, according to the Pentagon's assessment, clearing the Strait of Hormuz of mines could take months.

The assessment added that such an operation is unlikely to happen if the US-Iran war has not ended.
