"It's true (one ART died)," Roby told reporters, Thursday, April 23, 2026.
Roby said that the two are now under medical care. However, Roby has not revealed the cause of the two jumping.
"It is still not possible to conclude so (the cause of the PRT jumping). The victim and witnesses are still being treated at the hospital," he said.
Regarding this, the police are still collecting witness statements. A number of parties will be examined. Meanwhile, the victim's employer has not been examined by the police.
"Not yet," Roby said briefly.
It is known that initial information about the incident had circulated through a message received by VOI. The content came from the confession of the residents of the hostel at the location.
"Afternoon, Mr. Ari. I apologize for disturbing your time, I was just informed by my friend who lives in the Benhil area that there were 2 ART who escaped by jumping from the 4th floor," the message read, Thursday.
The victims were said to be 18 and 26 years old. One victim is reported to have died.
The message also contained the condition of the boarding house building. The building is said to have four floors. However, only three floors are used for boarding houses. The fourth floor is inhabited by the building owner.
"My friend said, this building is a 4-storey hostel, but only 3 floors are used for the hostel, the 4th floor is occupied by the owner of the hostel. My friend also said, access to the 4th floor is sterilized and locked, so the ART who escaped couldn't go anywhere, so he escaped. Attached is a video from last night, sir," continued the message.
