Without OTP Lagi, Google Introduces Verified Email Feature to Register Android Apps Faster

Google has introduced a new feature that has the potential to change the way users sign up for Android apps. Through an update to Android, the email verification process can now be done automatically without having to enter an OTP code or open a verification link.

This feature, called "Verified Email", is integrated into the Credential Manager system, which allows applications to verify a user's Gmail address directly from the device in a secure manner.

With this technology, users no longer have to log in and out of the application just to find the six-digit code in the email. The system will use encrypted credentials that are already stored on the device to confirm the identity instantly.

When the app requires verification, a system window at the bottom of the screen will appear explaining what data is requested, such as an email address or profile photo. Users simply press "agree" to continue the process without additional obstacles.

In addition to speeding up registration, this feature is also designed to increase security. Re-verification can be done quickly for sensitive activities such as profile changes or transactions, without relying on external SMS or emails that are vulnerable to phishing attacks.

Google insists that privacy remains a priority. Apps cannot access user data without explicit permission, and any information requests are displayed transparently.

Currently, the new Verified Email feature is only available for personal Google accounts. A wider implementation will depend on adoption by third-party app developers.

This step reflects the industry trend towards a more seamless and secure user experience. If previously the application list felt like a "mini game" looking for OTP, now it's just one tap - it goes in.
