Iran denies Trump's thanks to the execution of 8 anti-government women

JAKARTA - The Iranian Judiciary has denied US President Donald Trump's claim that thanks to his request, the Islamic Republic has not executed eight women related to the recent anti-government demonstrations.

Iran's judiciary's Mizan Online website on Thursday accused Trump of spreading "fake news" and the women were never at risk of execution.

Previously, Trump claimed that thanks to him Iran had stopped its plans to execute eight women arrested during anti-government protests before the US-Israeli war against Iran.

Trump said Iran's plan was not carried out after he urged Tehran to free them.

"I greatly appreciate that Iran, and its leaders, respected my request, as President of the United States, and stopped the planned execution," Trump claimed on Truth Social, Wednesday, April 22, quoted from AFP.
