Signs of Aging Seen in Your 20s, Here's How to Deal with It
JAKARTA - Premature aging does not always come suddenly at a mature age - many people start to see the signs as early as their 20s. The most common early indication is the appearance of fine lines on the face, especially around the eyes and mouth.
In addition, the skin can look dull, elasticity begins to decrease, and the contours of the face are no longer as firm as before. Lifestyle factors such as lack of sleep, unbalanced diet, lack of physical activity, to the habit of smoking or using vape also accelerate the emergence of these signs.
According to doctor and aesthetic expert dr. Dewita Kamaruddin BMedSCi (Hons.), the initial symptoms of aging are usually preceded by thin expression lines.
"The early signs of aging are fine expression lines, which were thin, then there were smile lines. When you don't exercise, you eat carelessly, changes begin to occur on the skin, the jawline is not firm," he explained, as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, April 23.
He explained that the smile line is a natural part of the facial structure and can give its own character. However, factors such as age or drastic weight loss can make the line appear deeper.
"Every age has a smile line that defines the face, but as you age or lose weight drastically, the smile line can be seen more clearly."
Furthermore, he highlighted that daily habits have a great influence on skin condition. An unhealthy lifestyle can make the skin look dull and trigger the appearance of wrinkles early.
"Lack of exercise, the habit of using vape, and unhealthy eating patterns can affect the aesthetics of the skin, becoming dull and thin wrinkles since young."
Conditions such as skin folds around the smile line can also give the impression of a less fresh face.
"It looks like there are excess skin on the smile line, that's what makes the face look not fresh."
To overcome this, treatment can be considered starting in your 20s with consultation with a professional medical team. This approach aims to maintain skin quality and slow down the appearance of aging signs.
"It doesn't mean that people in their 20s feel young and then delay treatment. If you care about your face, especially if you meet a lot of people, you should consult to get natural results, not excessive ones."
