Police Arrest T19 Angkot Driver Ugal-ugalan, Fight in the Direction to Break the Car Glass
JAKARTA - A driver of the T19 city bus (angkot) route Depok-Kampung Rambutan was arrested by the police after being involved in a brawl on Jalan Tanah Merdeka, in front of Lotemart, Susukan Village, Ciracas District, East Jakarta.
The incident began when the perpetrator went against the direction and almost hit another rider. Not accepting to be scolded, the perpetrator actually committed an act of anarchy by breaking the glass of the victim's car.
After committing the act of violence, the perpetrator fled. The victim then reported the incident to the Ciracas Police.
The head of the Ciracas Police Criminal Investigation Unit, AKP Hotman Capandi, said his party immediately conducted an investigation after receiving the report.
"After an investigation, we managed to secure two people suspected of being perpetrators, initials IK (30) and P (30), along Jalan Supriadi, Susukan Village, Ciracas," said Hotman, Wednesday, April 22, 2026.
The police also seized evidence in the form of one unit of T19 angkot type Daihatsu Grandmax with the police number B 1076 QO in red.
The two perpetrators are now being detained at the Ciracas Police to undergo further examination. IK is known to be a resident of the Bangka Belitung Islands, while P is recorded as a resident of Pasar Minggu, South Jakarta.
"This arrest is a follow-up to a viral video that has circulated in the community," he added.
