Khofifah Prepares Field Hospital In Suramadu For COVID-19 Positive Riders
SURABAYA - East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa, prepared a field hospital in the Suramadu Bridge area. This facility is specifically for riders who are positive for COVID-19 before entering the Surabaya City area from Madura, or vice versa.
"The transit point is in the courtyard of the Suramadu Regional Development Agency (BPWS). We have coordinated and received permission," said Khofifah, in Surabaya, Monday, June 7.
Khofifah said, specifically for drivers who are reactive and whose condition is asymptomatic or mild to moderate symptoms, treatment and isolation will be carried out at the Indrapura Emergency Hospital. Meanwhile, those with moderate to severe symptoms will be referred to Dr Soetomo Hospital.
"It can also be at the Haji Hospital, it can also be taken to the Unair Hospital," he said.
According to Khofifah, the mobility between Surabaya and Madura on the Suramadu Bridge is very high. That's why the provincial government together with the Surabaya city government agreed to carry out mass screening and antigen testing.
"Because Surabaya is the provincial capital, so the potential for interaction will be higher with other regencies and cities," he said.
To date, more than 3,000 motorists crossing the Suramadu Bridge have undergone a swab test. As a result, 83 people were found to be positive for COVID-19, the results of an antigen test. Now they are undergoing treatment at several Covid-19 Referral Hospitals in Surabaya.
