Tesla Model YL Debuts in India, 5 Seconds Acceleration and 681 Km Travel Distance

JAKARTA - Tesla officially presents a new variant of the Model Y with a six-seat configuration with a longer wheelbase in India. The presence of this model complements the Model Y line that has already been marketed in the country.

The YL Premium model (All Wheel Drive) is offered starting at 6,199,000 rupees (off-the-road), or equivalent to Rp1.2 billion. One of its main attractions is the claim of a range of up to 681 km based on the WLTP standard in one charge.

In terms of performance, this electric SUV relies on a dual-motor all-wheel drive system that can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.0 seconds. Its top speed is claimed to reach 201 km/h.

The unit introduced appears in a Stealth Grey color, combined with 19-inch Crossflow alloy rims and a black-colored cabin. As the name "L", this version of the Model Y has a longer dimension with a three-row configuration and a total of six seats, making it more friendly for family needs.

The trunk space is also quite spacious, reaching 2,539 liters. This car is equipped with a modern infotainment system that is connected to a subscription-based service.

Consumers get a 30-day trial period for premium connectivity. After that, standard network features including navigation can still be used for up to eight years. A premium audio system with a 18+1 speaker configuration also complements the comfort in the cabin.

Structurally, the Model Y is built on Tesla's dedicated EV platform with a low center of gravity thanks to the battery position on the floor of the vehicle. Although the specifications of the Indian market are not detailed, globally the long wheelbase version has a length of more than 4.7 meters with a longer wheelbase to support the third row.
