From Sabang to Merauke, BGN Established 27 Thousand SPPG in 1.4 Years

JAKARTA - The National Nutrition Agency (BGN) said it had successfully established more than 27 thousand Nutrition Fulfillment Service Units (SPPG) in Indonesia in a period of one year and four months as an effort to succeed the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) Program.

"In just one year and four months we have managed to establish 27 thousand SPPGs spread from Sabang to Merauke," said BGN Head Dadan Hindayana in Padang City, West Sumatra, Wednesday, quoted by Antara.

This means, said Dadan, that currently BGN has 27 thousand SPPG heads, 27 thousand nutritionists, 27 thousand accountants, and 1.1 million volunteers ready to succeed one of President Prabowo Subianto's AstaCita.

Especially in West Sumatra, he continued, BGN noted that there were 404 SPPG, of which 70 were in Padang City. With this amount, at least Rp. 400 billion of money is circulating in the Ranah Minang to meet the needs of MBG.

"And of the money that goes into the virtual account in each SPPG, 70 percent is used to buy raw materials," said Dadan.

He conveyed that the MBG chanted by President Prabowo not only aims to produce and shape superior and healthy Human Resources (HR). However, it also has a direct impact on various sectors, such as agriculture to Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).

Dadan said that 95 percent of MBG materials come from agriculture. This means that this policy has a direct impact on farmers, livestock farmers, fishermen, and other sectors. Then 20 percent of the MBG budget is used to pay for operations, including volunteer salaries ranging from IDR 2.4 million to IDR 3.5 million.

Based on reports from several regions, Dadan said the MBG Program has also succeeded in reducing poverty and unemployment rates and has a positive impact on the gini ratio.

"I have received reports that the community is also eager to farm, plant, raise livestock, and so on. Hopefully in Padang and West Sumatra as well," said Head of BGN Dadan Hindayana.
