KPK Calls KONI Ponorogo Chairman Sugiri Heru Sangoko in the DJKA Bribery Case

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) summoned the Chairman of the Indonesian National Sports Committee (KONI) Ponorogo, Sugiri Heru Sangoko as a witness today, April 22.

He was questioned regarding the alleged bribery of the railway line development project of the Director General of Railways (DJKA) of the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) for East Java. Sugiri in the schedule of examination is in the status of Director of PT Giri Bangun Sentosa.

"The examination was carried out at the office of the BPKP Representative for East Java Province," said KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo to reporters through his written statement, Wednesday, April 22.

In addition to Sugiri, the KPK also scheduled an examination of two other witnesses. He is R. Reza Maullana Maghribi as the PPK at BTP East Java for the 2021-2022 period and Dimas Hadi Putra as the PPK Jember-Kalisat in 2023.

The details of the examination of the three witnesses have not been detailed. However, they are suspected of knowing the corruption practices being investigated.

Sugiri Heru Sangoko was also questioned by the anti-corruption commission investigators in a corruption case that ensnared the non-active Ponorogo Regent Sugiri Sancoko. The examination was held on Monday, January 12.

As previously reported, the KPK continues to develop the bribery case for the railway line development project of the Director General of Railways (DJKA) of the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) for East Java. Most recently, Sudewo as a former Member of Commission V of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia for the period 2020-2024 was named a suspect.

Then, the anti-corruption commission also promised to investigate members of Commission V of the DPR RI for the period 2019-2024 who enjoyed the flow of money. One of them is Lasarus as the then Chairman of Commission V of the DPR RI and was said in the trial to enjoy a project fee of 10 percent.

He is suspected of receiving money flows with members of Commission V of the Indonesian House of Representatives for the period 2019-2024 from various factions who are suspected of enjoying fees. They include Ridwan Bae, Hamka Baco Kady to Sadarestuwati.
