Pakistan Urges Iran to Follow Up on Second Round of Talks with U.S.

Pakistan continues to try to persuade Iran to take part in the second round of negotiations with the United States.

"The official response from Iran regarding the confirmation of the delegation to attend the Islamabad Peace Talks is still pending," Pakistani Information Minister Attaullah Tarar said on Tuesday, April 21, as reported by ANTARA from Anadolu.

"Pakistan has made sincere efforts to convince the Iranian leadership to participate in the second round of negotiations and these efforts continue," he added.

Pakistan continues to maintain contact with Iran, as well as adhering to the path of diplomacy and dialogue, the minister added.

"The ceasefire ended on April 22, at 4.50 am local time. Iran's decision to attend the negotiations before the end of the two-week ceasefire is very important," the minister added.
