Liam Rosenior Worried About Estevao and Enzo Fernandez Injuries When Facing Manchester United

JAKARTA - Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior revealed that Estevao cried during the first half break after being forced off the field due to injury in the match against Manchester United, Sunday, April 19, 2026.

The Brazilian striker was only on the pitch for the first 16 minutes before Rosenior was forced to pull him off with a hamstring injury. Former Manchester United player Alejandro Garnacho came on to replace him.

Estevao's compatriot, Matheus Cunha, then scored the only goal of the game before halftime, Manchester United securing three crucial points in the race for Champions League qualification at Stamford Bridge.

After the match, Rosenior failed to allay concerns about the severity of Estevao's injury.

"He was crying at half-time. It really broke him. It looked like it was a hamstring injury and it happened as he was running towards the opposition goal for a one-on-one opportunity."

"He suffered a hamstring injury at that time. I hope Este can come back sooner," said Rosenior.

Chelsea's injury problems did not stop there, midfielder Enzo Fernandez, who had only just returned to the squad after a forced break due to his comments about a possible move to Real Madrid, was also forced off late in the game.

"I just saw him (Fernandez) in the dressing room. I think it's his calf injury. I hope it's cramps. He's having treatment now because we want him, of course, fit for Wednesday (22 April 2026 WIB against Brighton and Hove Albion)."

"He has fought tooth and nail for the club against Manchester United. I don't expect anything different from a player of his calibre and quality," Rosenior said.
