Kopassus Dismissed Viral News of Torture at the Palace

JAKARTA - The Special Forces Command (Kopassus) of the Indonesian Army has denied a post on social media regarding the action taken by the Kopassus Commander, Lieutenant General TNI Djon Afriandi, against someone at the State Palace who was nicknamed 'Bunted'.

The official Instagram account of Kopassus lighting @penkopassusmengunggah uploaded a video containing a statement about the upload related to the slap was a hoax.

Based on the information in the video, it is stated that the information was deliberately spread by certain parties with bad intentions.

"The fact is that this is just a composition that has no valid evidence, this information is deliberately spread to create noise and break the internal solidity of the state institutions," as reported by ANTARA from the video statement, Tuesday, April 21.

Kopassus also appealed to the public not to easily believe and be influenced by the hoax news.

"Don't be a hoax spreader, always make sure to check the accuracy of information from official and reliable sources," said penkopassus.

Previously, a post on the social media Threads was circulated by Pangkopassus, Lieutenant General TNI Djon Afriandi, who slapped someone nicknamed "Bunted" at the State Palace a few days ago for not being given the opportunity to meet President Prabowo Subianto.
