Poco M8s 5G is marketed, 7,000 mAh battery and 144Hz screen, starting price IDR 3 million

JAKARTA - Poco officially expanded their entry-level line by bringing the Poco M8s 5G to the global market. This device is aimed at users who want a combination of large battery life and modern features without having to dig too deep into their pockets.

One of the main attractions of the Poco M8s 5G is the 7,000 mAh battery - a figure that is considered jumbo in its class. With this capacity, the device is designed for full-day use even more, suitable for users with high mobility or intense multimedia activities.

On the screen side, Poco embeds a 6.9-inch Full HD+ panel with a refresh rate of up to 144Hz on supported applications. The brightness level reaches 850 nits in high brightness mode, and is equipped with TÜV Rheinland certification to reduce blue light exposure and flicker, providing extra comfort during long-term use.

For the engine, this phone is powered by the Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 chipset based on 6nm fabrication. This performance is combined with up to 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage with UFS 2.2 technology, as well as support for microSD expansion up to 2TB - a feature that is increasingly rare but still relevant for "data hoarding" users.

Poco M8s 5G runs Android 15-based HyperOS 2, as well as bringing IP64 certification for dust and water resistance. The security system relies on a fingerprint sensor on the side of the device.

For photography, this device carries a 50MP main camera with an f/1.8 aperture, accompanied by a secondary lens. On the front, there is an 8MP camera for selfie and video call needs. Multimedia experience is also strengthened with Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res Audio support.

In terms of price, the Poco M8s 5G is priced starting at US$189 (around Rp3 million) for the 6GB/128GB variant, while the 8GB/256GB version is sold in the range of US$219. The device is available in black and white colors, and is marketed through Xiaomi's official online store in a number of countries.
