Electricity Disruption Resolves, Commuter Line Journey from Tanah Abang to Rangkasbitung Returns to Normal

JAKARTA - The journey of the Commuter Line across Tanah Abang-Rangkasbitung which was disrupted due to the shutdown of the Overhead Line (LAA), has now returned to normal operation.

KAI Commuter Public Relations Manager, Leza Arlan, explained that the disruption occurred on Tuesday evening, April 21, 2026, starting at 18.35 WIB due to the shutdown of the LAA supply from the PLN Limo Traction Substation.

"The relevant officers have coordinated for the transfer of LAA power from other traction substations, namely the Rubber Traction Substation 2 and the Pondok Betung Traction Substation," Leza said in an official statement, Tuesday, April 21.

As a result of the disruption, continued Leza, a number of Commuter Line trips were delayed and queued. In fact, two train trips stopped in the middle of the cross.

"Due to the LAA's shutdown, Commuter Line travel on the Tanah Abang-Rangkasbitung line was delayed and the travel queue. Commuter Line No. 1766 and 1768 stopped between Kebayoran Station and Sudimara Station," he said.

Leza said at 19.19 WIB, the electricity supply from PLN was back to normal so that train operations gradually recovered.

"Currently, the Commuter Line journey has passed normally. KAI Commuter continues to coordinate with related parties for normalization and the breakdown of travel queues," explained Leza.

KAI Commuter urges users to continue to prioritize safety while using train services.

"Always prioritize safety and follow the instructions of officers at the station," he concluded.
