Practical and Digital Approaches are Evaluated to Improve Student Work Readiness

JAKARTA - The transformation of labor needs encourages higher education institutions to adopt a more applicable learning model.

Bina Sarana Informatika University (UBSI) Karawang campus integrates hands-on practice and digital technology in the learning process.

Students not only receive theoretical material, but also practice in computer laboratories, such as application development, database management, and network security testing.

On the other hand, the e-learning platform MyBest is a means of continuous learning that allows students to access materials flexibly, including for those who attend evening classes or have jobs.

UBSI Karawang Information Systems student, Dinda Permatasari, assessed that the combination of these facilities helps learning effectiveness.

"The material can be repeated and discussions continue even outside the classroom," he said.

Competency strengthening is also carried out through the BSI Entrepreneur Center (BEC) which encourages students to develop technology-based business projects. One of the students, Arif Rama Saputra, admitted that he had experience building a financial application for MSMEs.

In addition, the BSI Career Center (BCC) plays a role in preparing students to enter the workforce through training, internship access, and job opportunity information.

Head of the UBSI Karawang Campus, Mohamad Syamsul Aziz, said that this approach was designed to answer the needs of an increasingly complex industry.

"Our focus is to ensure that students have technical, digital, and soft skills that are relevant to the world of work," he said.

With this approach, UBSI Karawang strives to increase the competitiveness of graduates in the midst of the ever-evolving dynamics of the labor market.
