BNI Promotes Gender Equality, Strengthens the Role of Women in the Work World and Society
JAKARTA - PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BNI) has reaffirmed its commitment to promoting gender equality through various inclusive policies in the work environment as well as empowerment programs that have an impact on society. This effort is part of the implementation of the spirit of Kartini carried out by the company in supporting the role of women as drivers of the national economy.
Deputy President Director of BNI Alexandra Askandar stated that BNI continues to present policies that provide equal opportunities for all employees regardless of gender.
"BNI believes that women have a strategic role in driving company growth and contributing to national economic development. Therefore, BNI continues to strive to present policies that support equality and encourage women to develop and contribute optimally," said Alexandra.
Internally, BNI has implemented various policies that support work-life balance, such as menstrual leave, maternity leave, daycare facilities, to the provision of breastfeeding rooms in the office. The company also offers an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) to support the physical, mental, and financial health of employees, as well as implementing flexible work schemes.
In addition to internal policies, BNI also strengthens the role of women through the formation of BNI Srikandi as a strategic platform for the development of women's leadership. This initiative encourages collaboration, creativity, and the improvement of the capabilities of female employees, while expanding their opportunities to occupy leadership positions in various organizational lines.
According to Alexandra, increasing the role of women in the workforce not only impacts individuals, but also contributes to economic growth broadly. Various studies show that companies with diverse leadership tend to have better performance, are innovative, and are able to make more comprehensive decisions.
Srikandi BNI is also directed to provide a wider impact through social activities and women's empowerment in the community. The programs that will be prepared in the future include capacity building for young generations, support for women's health, and strengthening women's economic independence in various regions.
"These various initiatives are part of BNI's efforts to bring the spirit of Kartini which does not only stop in the work environment, but also provides a real impact for the community," said Alexandra.
Through an integrated approach between internal policies and social programs, BNI places women's empowerment as part of the company's sustainability strategy. This step is expected not only to strengthen the organization's competitiveness, but also to make a real contribution to inclusive and sustainable economic development in Indonesia. (ADV)
