WhatsApp Tests Premium Subscription Plan with Exclusive Features

JAKARTA - WhatsApp is seen testing their first subscription, which is called WhatsApp Plus. This paid service will offer a variety of exclusive features that are not available to regular users.

In this limited trial, as found by WABetaInfo, WhatsApp Plus will provide advantages such as more diverse themes, selectable icons, to personalized ringtones.

Basically, this WhatsApp Plus service is similar to Instagram Plus and Snapchat+ which have been around for a long time. The main focus of this subscription package is the beauty of the platform and the interface settings that feel more attractive.

"WhatsApp Plus ... is designed for users who want more ways to personalize their experience," a Meta spokesperson said, quoted by TechCrunch on Tuesday, April 21.

Although the official price has not been announced, the latest leaks say that the price of this service will be priced at 0.82 US dollars (Rp15 thousand). As part of the promotion, WhatsApp will offer a free trial period of one month for selected users.

In addition to a more attractive interface and settings, WhatsApp will also offer a number of new features. One of them is the ability to pin up to 20 important chats.

This capacity is much larger than the free version which only allows users to pin three chats. In addition, premium customers can create special lists and apply different themes and notification tones for each private or group chat room.

Currently, the WhatsApp Plus feature is only available to a small number of users to collect feedback. If the trial results are positive, it is likely that the feature will be launched to more countries in the near future.
