DKI DPRD Chair Replaced, PKS Says It's the Party President's Desire 

JAKARTA - The Central Board of Trustees (DPP) of the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) decided to replace the position of the Chairman of the DKI Jakarta DPRD from Khoirudin to Suhud Alynudin. This rotation of positions is said to be part of the direction and strategy of the new leadership in the PKS body.

Chairman of the PKS Faction of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, M. Taufik Zoelkifli, emphasized that the letter from the DPP that was circulating was not just a normal proposal, but an organizational order that must be carried out by the structure below.

"There is a letter from the DPP proposing, suggesting that the replacement, but for us it is an order to the DPW that the current chairman of the DKI Jakarta Provincial DPRD is indeed the PKS faction, yes, who fills the position," said Taufik at the DKI Jakarta DPRD building, Tuesday, April 21.

Taufik explained that the rotation of positions was inseparable from the change of leadership at the PKS central level after the 2025 National Consultative Meeting (Munas). The change of PKS President from Ahmad Syaikhu to Al Muzzammil Yusuf was followed by a restructuring of the organization nationally.

According to him, the change in structure not only occurred in DKI Jakarta, but also evenly in various regions. Including the change of the Chairman of the PKS DKI DPW from Khoirudin to Suhud Alynudin, as well as other positions in the party's internal.

He assessed that this rotation step is part of the new leadership's strategy to run the organization more effectively, including in the placement of cadres in strategic positions such as the Head of the DPRD.

"It's true that if the new president or the new leader, of course, he is looking for the most effective way to run the organization, and then after the DPW chairman changes," said Taufik.

"This year we see that the DPP president also participated in replacing officials, or rotating the trust that was originally delivered or given to Ustaz Khairuddin to be transferred to the current DPW Chairman, namely Mr. Suhud," he continued.

However, Taufik admitted that the detailed reasons behind the decision were not conveyed publicly. However, he emphasized that PKS cadres would still obey the party's decision.

He also said that in the PKS culture, the change of position is a common thing and is not questioned, including if an official is demoted from a strategic position.

Taufik added that each party leader has preferences in compiling a working team that is considered the most effective to carry out the organization's program.

"From the chairman to the member, yes, it's okay. If, for example, they are lowered again to ordinary people, yes, it's okay here," explained Taufik.
