Ministry of Industry Strengthens Industry Vocation, Absorption of Graduates Targeted to Reach 100 Percent

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) has strengthened the industrial vocational education program to prepare competent workers who are ready to compete in the national and global labor market. The program is one of the government's priorities under the leadership of President Prabowo Subianto.

Minister of Industry (Menperin) Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita revealed that President Prabowo paid great attention to strengthening vocational education as the foundation for the development of industrial human resources.

"The President emphasized that vocational education must be a national priority so that graduates have competencies in accordance with the needs of the labor market, both domestically and in the global market," said Agus, quoted from an official statement, Tuesday, April 21.

Currently, the Ministry of Industry is fostering 11 polytechnics, two community academies and nine vocational high schools. These educational units produce graduates every year who have close links with the needs of the business and industrial world.

The majority of graduates are absorbed directly into the industry, while the rest get jobs for a maximum of six months after graduation.

Head of the Ministry of Industry Human Resources Development Agency (BPSDMI) Doddy Rahadi said that graduates of vocational education at the Ministry of Industry were equipped with technical skills and adaptability to industrial technology developments.

"The absorption rate of graduates into the industry in 2025 reaches 68 percent immediately after graduation and is projected to reach 100 percent within six months after graduation," he said.

The high absorption also encourages public interest. Data on the Vocational Industry Intake Track (JARVIS) 2025 recorded that around 82,800 applicants for polytechnics and community academies and approximately 28,800 applicants for vocational schools. This figure is up from 2024, which was around 60,000 and 23,500 applicants respectively.

To accommodate the high interest, the Ministry of Industry has reopened JARVIS this year. The program is a system for the admission of new students and learners for all vocational education units under the Ministry of Industry.

Doddy explained that JARVIS consists of three lines, namely JARVIS Bersama, JARVIS Mandiri and JARVIS Prestasi. JARVIS Bersama is carried out simultaneously by all education units, with the registration schedule for polytechnics and community academies on April 6-5 June 2026 and SMK on April 6-15 May 2026. Registration is carried out online through the official website of the Ministry of Industry.

Meanwhile, JARVIS Mandiri and JARVIS Prestasi are carried out by each education unit in accordance with internal regulations. All JARVIS registration processes are free of charge. The cost of education during the study period follows the policies of each education unit.
