Pilgrims who arrived at the Langsung Haji Dormitory were subjected to a series of examinations.
JAKARTA - The first group of prospective pilgrims who arrived at the Pondok Gede Hajj Dormitory, Jakarta, were immediately directed to undergo a series of examinations and preparations before departing for the Holy Land on Wednesday (22/4) morning.
The process includes registration, health check-up, passport inspection, to the immigration process, including the activation of the Nusuk Card.
"Before they are sent to the airport, they (pilgrims) will be checked first. To be collected at SG-1 (multi-purpose building), it is specifically for the final screening, related to luggage," said Head of the Dormitory Unit of the Hajj Pondok Gede Muhammad Ali Zakiyudin, Tuesday, April 21, reported by ANTARA.
After all stages are completed, pilgrims will be directed to their respective rooms before being transported to the airport using vehicles that have been prepared.
This year, the activation of the Nusuk Card is not carried out at the arrival airport but directly at the Hajj Dormitory before departure in order to facilitate prospective pilgrims. The card is a kind of passport to worship in Arafah, Muzdalifah, and Mina.
Ali explained that the Pondok Gede Hajj Dormitory would send 393 people in the first Kloter. They have flocked to the Hajj dormitory since 07.00 WIB.
"For the first batch, there were 393 people. They all entered from 07.00 WIB. Because from DKI, each pilgrim did not bring many of their entourage, they went straight here," said Ali.
In accordance with the tagline set by the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, namely Hajj Friendly for the Elderly, Disabled, and Women, the services provided at Pondok Gede are adjusted to the needs of the field.
Elderly, disabled, and female congregations are prioritized in document checks and are immediately taken to their respective rooms using special cars so that they can immediately rest before the long journey.
"Later in the room it will be like that, they can also get special services. All those placed on the 1st floor are women, the elderly and the disabled. When we deliver from SG2 to the room, there are also special cars for the elderly, the disabled," said Ali.
Ali said the first Kloter pilgrims would be sent to Soekarno Hatta Airport at 19.30 WIB with a scheduled plane at 00.45 WIB.
Before boarding the bus, the pilgrims' belongings will be checked again at the 1st Multipurpose Building. This area will be sterilized like the airport area.
Officers also appeal to pilgrims not to bring sharp objects such as nail scissors or staples in the cabin bag because they will be confiscated during the inspection.
"Sometimes it's often a nail clipper. Sometimes they don't realize that it's a light thing. But sometimes they are used to putting the equipment they use, like staples. That's also often," he said.
