Duel on Kodingareng Island Ends in Death, Fisherman Dies by Stabbing
MAKASSAR - A duel between two men on Kodingareng Island, Sangkarrang Islands District, Makassar City, South Sulawesi, ended in death. A fisherman with the initials MA (37) was killed after being stabbed in the stomach.
The perpetrator, who has the initials I (40), who is still neighbors with the victim, allegedly attacked using a sharp weapon of a parang type in a fight that occurred due to a family conflict.
The head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Makassar Port Police explained that the incident started from a dispute between the children of the victim and the perpetrator. The situation heated up when the two parents were directly involved until it ended in a quarrel and fight.
"The initial trigger was a dispute between children. The victim's parents approached the perpetrator until there was a quarrel that ended in stabbing," said Dewa, Tuesday, April 21.
The victim suffered serious injuries to the abdomen and died at the scene. The atmosphere of grief enveloped the victim's family, even in the video that circulated, there was a hysterical cry when the victim was found lying in a pool of blood.
Receiving reports from residents, the police immediately headed to the location using a speedboat to carry out the scene of the crime (TKP) and evacuate the body to the Biddokes Forensic Facility of the South Sulawesi Police.
Meanwhile, the perpetrator surrendered to the police shortly after the incident by bringing the evidence of the parang used.
"The perpetrator has surrendered along with evidence. This case is still under further investigation," said the police.
Currently, investigators are still investigating the case for further legal proceedings.
