Iran Refuses Negotiations Even Though Trump Says US Delegation Has Flew to Pakistan
JAKARTA - Iran has not changed its decision to abstain from the second round of US-Iranian peace talks scheduled to be held in Islamabad, Pakistan.
A source quoted by the Tasnim news agency was reported by the BBC as saying, Monday, April 20, that the US naval blockade on the orders of US President Donald Trump against ships entering and leaving Iranian ports made efforts towards negotiations a hindrance.
However, on the one hand, the source added, a number of excessive demands by the US have also obscured the prospects for peace talks with Iran.
According to the news agency, Iran was also said to "remain fully prepared for military confrontation and to once again punish the US."
Iran has yet to decide on coming to the second round of peace talks in Islamabad despite Trump today telling the New York Post that a US delegation was on its way to Pakistan.
