East Kodap XXXV Bintang East KKB Task Force arrested in Oksibil
JAYAPURA - The joint team of the Cartenz Peace Operation Task Force and the Bintang Mountains Police arrested two members of the East Star Kodap XXXV Armed Group (KKB) with the initials EK (22) and RS (23).
Head of Operations of the DamaiCartenz Task Force, Inspector General Faizal Rahmadanimengatakan, the two KKB members were arrested in a law enforcement operation carried out on Sunday (19/4) at around 20.45 WIT on Jalan Kabiding, Oksibil District, Pegunungan Bintang Regency.
"The arrest is part of the efforts of the Cartenz Peace Operation Task Force to take firm action against armed criminals who have disrupted security stability in the Papua Mountains," said Faizal as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, April 20.
He said EK was one of the KKB members who was included in the wanted list (DPO) since December 2022 related to the murder of three motorcycle taxi drivers on December 5, 2022 in Mangabib Village, Oksebang District.
The incident was recorded in Police Report Number: LP/B/31/XII/2022/Papua/Res Pegunungan Bintang.
In addition, EK was also recorded as involved in a number of violent acts, including shootings and burning of public facilities which occurred in a row on January 7, 9, 11, 12, and 14, 2023 in the Serambakonserta District and an attack on the Rajawali Task Force Post in Mimin Village, Oksop District, on May 27, 2025.
Meanwhile, the hospital is suspected of being involved in the attack on the Rajawali Task Force Post at the same location and time.
"From the police record it was revealed that RS was a former prisoner in a case of theft of mobile phones that occurred on September 7, 2020 on Jalan Yapimakot, Pegunungan Bintang. RS has served a two-year prison sentence based on the court's decision on January 26, 2021," said Faizal.
