Iranian Ambassador to Russia Claims US-Israeli Joint Attack Unites His Country
JAKARTA - The Ambassador (Dubes) of Iran to Moscow, Russia, Kazem Jalali said that the unity and unity of the Iranian community is becoming closer as a result of the joint attack by the United States (US) and Israel.
"The question is: in which tasks did they succeed? None," Jalali told Russian-language newspaper Vedomosti, quoted by The Telegraph, Monday, April 20.
According to Jalali, the US-Iran did not achieve any of the goals of the war they started against Iran on February 28.
He also warned the US President Donald Trump's administration that his efforts would fail to order the US Navy to carry out a blockade targeting ships going to and from Iranian ports.
"Their actions have led the Iranian people to unite and unite more, and our military has started to respond to their aggressive actions with high fighting spirit. And you understand that they will also not succeed in the naval blockade," he continued.
Jalali then highlighted the instability of Trump's goal of launching an attack on Iran until he eventually wanted to open the Strait of Hormuz. However, he said, when the ceasefire in Lebanon was realized and the Strait of Hormuz was open, the US still carried out a blockade.
"After all, at first they wanted regime change, but they got to the point where they [only] wanted to open the Strait of Hormuz. That's not possible. Trump is now asked, what is the purpose of the attack on Iran? He said: 'to open the Strait of Hormuz.' 50 days ago, this strait was open and as free as possible," he concluded.
