Prabowo Leads Ratas to Discuss Acceleration of Giant Sea Wall in Pantura
President Prabowo Subianto chaired a limited meeting (ratas) at the Presidential Palace, Jakarta, discussing the acceleration of the construction of a giant sea wall on the north coast (pantura) of Java Island.
The Head of the North Java Beach Management Authority (BOPPJ), Rear Admiral TNI (Ret.) Didit Herdiawan Ashaf, when met after the meeting, explained that the meeting was to study development plans.
"It is still in the planning stage and we will further explore activities related to construction," said the ANTARA court, Monday, April 20.
However, Didit said there was no set target time.
However, the President ordered the execution of the plan to accelerate the construction of a giant sea embankment.
"The plan from the results of the count, is still calculating the time, because it is related to the 'resources' (resources, ed.) that exist in Indonesia, we use all of them," said Didit.
At the same location on a separate occasion, the Minister of Higher Education, Science and Technology (Mendiktisaintek) Brian Yuliarto, who also attended the meeting, explained that President Prabowo also ordered campuses to actively support the plan to build a giant sea embankment.
Brian said the giant sea embankment was a strategic infrastructure to be built because it would save 60 percent of the industrial area and also more than 30 million residents who live in the coastal area of the north of Java Island.
"Well, there are many research results at the campus that have also been tested. One of them was successful in Demak, Semarang. We are also asked to participate actively. So, the lecturers who have been conducting research at the campus that support for acceleration and become more efficient about the development of sea walls, are asked to participate," said Brian.
