Unidentified Body Found on the Banks of Savaya Beach Bali

DENPASAR - A joint SAR team evacuated an unidentified body on a cliff in the Savaya Beach area, Pecatu Village, Badung Regency, Bali.

"A male body was found washed ashore at Savaya Beach, Sunday afternoon," said Head of the Bali Basarnas Office I Nyoman Sidakarya, quoted by Antara, Monday, April 20.

He said that the information about the incident was only received by the standby officers of the Bali Basarnas Office at 17.10 Wita from members of the South Kuta Police, so that members were immediately assigned to carry out the evacuation.

The three personnel then departed for the scene, but due to the difficulty of the evacuation process, Basarnas involved other SAR elements, namely a combination of the South Kuta Police, Bhabinsa Pecatu Pecatu Village, Linmas Pecatu Village, Banser Ambulance officers, and local residents.

Nyoman Sidakarya said that the evacuation effort took quite some time, because access to the position of the body had to descend a steep terrain and sharp rocks.

When they reached the base of the cliff of Savaya Beach, the SAR team only found an unidentified body with the characteristics of a brown-skinned man wearing blue underwear without other clothing or identification cards.

"The body was then manually carried through the steep terrain until it could be brought up," said Nyoman Sidakarya.

In addition to these risky conditions, evacuation must be carried out carefully because of the dark situation so that lighting around the cliff is limited.

Finally, at around 19.40 Wita, the joint SAR team completed the evacuation.

"The unidentified body was taken to Prof Ngoerah Hospital using an ambulance," said Nyoman Sidakarya.
