Swiss International Air Lines Launches Premium Cabin Concept on Seoul-Zurich Route
JAKARTA - Swiss International Air Lines has introduced its new premium cabin concept - SWISS Senses - for the first time in South Korea, as part of an effort to set a new benchmark for long-distance travel connecting Seoul and Zurich, Switzerland late last month.
The company also introduced the A350 passenger plane, the first plane in the airline's fleet to feature a completely redesigned cabin, for the route.
The airline chose South Korea as the first market in Asia to showcase this enhanced premium travel concept.
The airline's senior officials stressed South Korea's role for the airline market in Asia and hinted at the possibility of expanding routes connecting South Korea and Switzerland.
"Strategically, we want to increase our capacity between Switzerland and Korea, because the Korean market is very attractive for our customers in Switzerland and throughout Europe," said Swiss International Air Lines Chief Commercial Officer Heike Birlenbach, melansi The Korea Times (15/4).
Starting from the summer schedule of 2026, the airline plans to operate the A350 on the Seoul-Zurich route. Swiss International Air Lines operates three regular routes between the two countries every week.
"Currently, all aircraft we operate from Zurich are operating at full capacity," he said.
"After we are able to grow further, we will get more planes, and then, we want to complete the service and have a higher frequency to Korea," he continued.
SWISS Senses emphasizes comfort, well-being, and modern Swiss design. In all classes, this premium concept provides a better service experience for customers.
The cabin combines modern design with better comfort, creating a calm and balanced environment through carefully selected lighting.
The human-centric lighting system is designed to help reduce jet lag by supporting passengers' natural circadian rhythms, the airline said.
The new cabins are configured in four classes - first class, business, premium economy, and economy - offering more space, better privacy, and advanced technology.
According to the airline, the increase in design and service elements is aimed at improving the overall flight experience.
In first class, Swiss International Air Lines has introduced new seat options, such as Single Suite and Suite Plus, which are designed to maximize personal space and privacy.
Meanwhile, the business class offers five different types of seats - classic seats, privacy seats, extra-long bed seats, extra-room seats, and business suites - giving passengers a variety of customized options to meet individual preferences and needs.
Birlenbach hopes SWISS Senses can attract more premium demand from South Korea.
