Not Only as a Local Player, BUMD is Asked to Provide Great Benefits for the Jakarta Economy

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government held a BUMD Leaders Forum which was initiated by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Regional Owned Enterprise Development Agency (BP BUMD) together with Bank Jakarta to encourage the increased role of BUMD as a supporting economic pillar of Global City Jakarta.

"I hope that in the next 1 year BUMD will consolidate and I also give room for opportunity because currently many BUMD-BUMD Jakarta are now no longer local players, including Bank Jakarta, PAM Jaya, Dharma Jaya and others, and I believe this will provide many benefits for Jakarta," said DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung in a statement received, Sunday, April 19, 2026.

However, Pramono reminded BUMD to remain vigilant against natural challenges and the world situation.

"But I also conveyed that because now the geopolitical situation is struggling and soon there will be an El Nino expected from April to September this year, I also ask them to prepare for it," he said.

Pramono believes that with strong consolidation and the development of a professional corporate culture, BUMD Jakarta will be able to face these various challenges.

"So hopefully the consolidation of BUMD and building a more open, transparent corporate culture and managed professionally, I believe that BUMD Jakarta is more ready," he said.

In addition to aligning visions, this forum also raised a number of strategic issues, ranging from financing synergies through Bank Jakarta and collateral synergies through Jamkrida Jakarta to the optimization of BUMD assets.

The Head of the BUMD Development Agency added that the main focus of this forum was directed at strengthening competitiveness, company health, and the financing capacity of Jakarta's development.
