He said, according to the 2022 Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Regulation, high octane fuels such as RON 98 or Pertamax Turbo are not included in the subsidy category.
According to him, this type of fuel is generally used by consumers from the middle class, so that the movement of its price follows the dynamics of the global market. In addition to Pertamax Turbo, solar fuel with a cetane number (CN) 51 is also categorized as non-subsidized fuel intended for the industrial sector and users with higher economic ability. He said, regarding the potential for oil and gas exploration, the process still follows the applicable mechanism. Exploration activities are initiated through the work area tender process (oil and gas block).
After the company wins the tender, it can proceed to the exploration stage to find out the potential of available resources.
