Celebrate the 51st anniversary, TMII gives ticket discounts up to 51 percent
JAKARTA - In welcoming the 51st anniversary of Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII), the management provides a 51 percent discount on tickets for visitors to this Indonesian cultural destination.
"We provide discounts for five days starting Saturday (18/4), Sunday (19/4), Saturday (24/4), Sunday (25/4) and Monday (26/4)," said Acting President Director of TMII Ratri Paramita in Jakarta, Saturday, April 18, quoted from ANTARA.
He said this discount was only given to the first 1,000 visitors who came to the tourist destination in East Jakarta.
"We target a total of 100 thousand people visiting in five days and every day there are 25 thousand people visiting," he said.
He said the first series of the 51st anniversary of TMII today was the performance of 1,000 dancers from 34 provinces in Indonesia who would break the MURI record in Tari Gelora Nusantara.
"Today there is also the first Shinta Obong cultural performance held outside Yogyakarta and there is Kecak Dance," he said.
Then on Sunday (19/4) there is Gunungan Nusantara, a parade that carries various plant products and all visitors can enjoy for free.
Then there is Icip-Icip Nusantara which is in Anjunga Nusantara. Each pier prepares traditional food for visitors according to the available quota.
"Then next week there is a concert, Kecak Dance, and a dance that is presented massively for visitors," he said.
In improving services, his party added electric car fleets to transport visitors from 39 units to 50 units.
"We are also working with Transjakarta to transport visitors and provide free pick-up transportation to the LRT station to make it easier for visitors," he said.
Meanwhile, Vice President of Corporate Secretary Injourney Yudhistira Setiawan said TMII has an important role in strengthening Indonesia's cultural-based tourism destinations.
"TMII is not only a tourist destination but also an instrument to strengthen the identity of banga and the Indonesian nation branding platform," he said.
He said the revitalization of TMII which has been carried out in three years since the merger of TMII into a state-owned holding in the aviation and tourism sectors, Injourney.
The revitalization carried out is not only physical aspects but a fundamental transformation of governance, curation of programs, and digitization of services.
"All of this is to restore the spirit of TMII as a Showcase of Indonesia that is modern but still relevant," he said.
Injourney Destination Management (IDM) Commercial Director Gistang Richard Panutur added that cultural preservation is the main foundation in the development of sustainable destinations.
"Preservation of culture is not only an effort to maintain heritage but also a lifeline to drive the overall tourism ecosystem," he said.
He added that the culture of giving identity presents an authentic experience for visitors and expands the potential for improving the welfare of existing communities.
"Tourism is not only a space for visits but also a space for interaction, learning, and empowerment," he said.
