JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government (Pemprov) through the Education Service has prepared a budget of more than Rp. 200 billion for the free private school program in the 2026/2027 academic year.
This year, the DKI Provincial Government added 63 private schools that were included in the program, so that a total of 103 private schools were free of charge.
"The budget allocated for 103 private schools is IDR 253,625,139,600," said the Head of the DKI Jakarta Education Office, Nahdiana, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, April 18.
From the 103 schools, it is projected that the number of students will reach 23,694 students.
Nahdiana said the DKI Provincial Government was not arbitrary in selecting private schools that were included in the free school program.
He detailed several conditions that must be met, including having a permit to establish, having a National School Number that is recorded in the National Education Data Management System, and having submitted data to the National Education Data Management System according to the actual conditions in the Private Education Unit per quarter in the current year.
Then, accredited by the National Accreditation Board for Education, to be a recipient of school operational assistance from the central government for the past three years without interruption, and not included in the cooperative education unit or new student admission system together.
The next requirement is to be willing to follow the Education Funding based on the Governor's Regulation that has been determined and have a Private Education Unit account in the name of the Private Education Unit at the Bank.
In addition, said Nahdiana, the Private Education Unit in the free private school program must organize the learning process without interruption, with the provision of elementary school or equivalent, namely grades 1 to 6.
Then, for middle school or equivalent, namely grades 7 to 9 and high school/vocational high school or equivalent, namely grades 10 to 12.
Nahdiana revealed that the DKI Provincial Government also prioritized and selected Private Education Units in the village that did not have an education unit organized by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government.
