BUMD Jakarta Asked by Pramono Anung to Tap Gas for Expansion
JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung encourages regional-owned enterprises (BUMD) to increase competitiveness and begin to expand into wider markets, including outside the domestic market.
In the BUMD Leaders Forum 2026, Pramono emphasized that BUMD Jakarta should not only be a local player.
"Not to be a local player, a home hero, but to fight outside," said Pramono, Friday, April 17.
A number of BUMD such as Bank Jakarta, Pasar Jaya, and Dharma Jaya are said to have the potential to expand their businesses.
This expansion is expected to strengthen its contribution to the Jakarta economy as a global city.
However, Pramono also reminded of external pressures that needed to be anticipated, ranging from geopolitical uncertainty to the threat of El Nino in April-September 2026.
He emphasized the importance of internal consolidation and improvement of corporate governance to be more transparent and professional.
"BUMD must build a corporate culture that is open and managed professionally," he said.
In the forum, the DKI Provincial Government also encouraged financing synergy through Bank Jakarta and guarantees through Jamkrida Jakarta to strengthen the investment capacity of BUMD.
In the first quarter of 2026, Bank Jakarta has channeled credit facilities to three BUMD, namely PT Bank Jakarta, PT Perumda Dharma Jaya, and Food Station Tjipinang.
In addition, the credit cooperation between PAM Jaya and Bank Jakarta was also signed as part of strengthening the financing of strategic projects.
