US Rejects NATO Aid After Strait of Hormuz Opened, Trump: Stay Away from Paper Tigers!
JAKARTA - US President Donald Trump admitted that NATO member countries offered assistance to the US after Iran officially opened the Strait of Hormuz following the ceasefire in Lebanon.
"Now that the situation in the Strait of Hormuz has been resolved, I received a call from NATO asking if we needed help," Trump claimed on his Truth Social account, Friday, April 17 WIB.
Still angry with his allies, Trump claimed to have rejected a request for assistance from NATO.
"I'M TELLING THEM [NATO] TO GO AWAY, UNLESS THEY'RE ONLY LOOKING TO FILL THEIR WAGON WITH OIL," Trump said.
Trump said NATO member states were reluctant to engage in the 40-day US-Israeli war against Iran. Even when asked to send warships to open the Strait of Hormuz from the Iranian blockade following the war, NATO also chose to avoid getting involved in the conflict.
"They are useless when needed, a Paper Tiger!" hardik Trump.
