Iran Opens Hormuz Strait During 10-Day Ceasefire in Lebanon
JAKARTA - Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi announced that the world's vital energy route in the Strait of Hormuz was opened wide without blockade since the ceasefire was realized in Lebanon.
"In line with the ceasefire in Lebanon, the passage for all commercial vessels through the Strait of Hormuz is declared fully open," Araghchi said on his X account, Friday evening, April 17 WIB.
He added that the fifth of the world's oil and liquefied natural gas supply was wide open during the implementation of the ceasefire in Lebanon.
"For the rest of the ceasefire period, on the coordinated route as announced by the Islamic Republic of Iran Ports and Maritime Organization," he continued.
A ceasefire was agreed between Israel and Lebanon for 10 days after it was announced by US President Donald Trump on Thursday midnight local time.
